Nissan Japan in collaboration with The Natural Step – Japan, wanted to create a short course to introduce employees to the serious sustainability issues facing automakers, and to the varied measures being taken by Nissan to address these issues.
Based on the one-hour Sustainability 101 course by The Natural Step, a new storyboard was written incorporating key elements and reducing the length of the course from one hour to 20 minutes. The story was adjusted to reflect the needs of Nissan – Japan and the approved storyboard was translated into Japanese. After recording of narration in Japanese & English and building of the course in Flash, the course was incorporated into Nissan – Japan’s learning management system.
- Interactive Flash-based 20-minute course uses an entertaining story-based approach to introduce employees to the serious sustainability issues facing automakers, and to the varied measures being taken by Nissan to address these issues.
- The course takes learners on a test drive with ‘Pivo’, a Nissan electric concept car, and highlights the innovative technologies and programs deployed by the company to curb CO2 emissions, reduce the use of chemicals, and achieve one of the highest recycling rates in the industry.
- Working for the Environment at Nissan was produced in cooperation with TNS – Japan in both English and Japanese for Nissan – Japan’s 32,000 production employees.
