Open School BC contracted TM NewMedia to create a Flash-based asset that could be incorporated into the Kinematics topic of their online version of Science 10. They provided an initial concept incorporating the use of skateboards and bicycles to illustrate velocity and acceleration calculations. The asset was to be used as a ‘virtual lab’ where the students could change different parameters of movement and capture the results.
Based on Open School’s original concept, we created a storyboard detailing the interactions, calculations, and visual approach to the client. After approval, the asset was created and tested.
- A short Flash-based asset.
- Incorporates stylized original photography of Victoria’s downtown core.
- Uses animations with the ability of students to change the parameters of movement and analyze the results.
